Kate de Renouard’s work doesn’t look like what most people expect pottery to look like. Showing a simplicity of line and a textural crispness rarely found in the medium of clay, her work suggests Scandinavian symmetry, Japanese simplicity and a fiery Latin passion.
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Kate has spent the last 30+ years living abroad in such exotic places as the Canary Islands, Switzerland, Southern Spain, the arctic north of Greenland and, most recently, in France and the Valley of the Moon, Sonoma, California.
After three years of formal artistic training, she opened her own Moon Mountain Studios in 1994. She has exhibited throughout California, and her works can be found in galleries and private collections both in the U.S. and in Europe.
